Day of the Triffids
Just discovered Pluto (WTF) has got a two-parter of this.

I'm sure I've already watched a good adaptation, but I can't remember when, and who did it.

The Crysalids

The Midwich Cuckoos

John Wyndham was a cracking writer and somewhat underrated sci-fi novelist.

I remember the early 80s tv version with the beardy bloke who was in everything back then, yeah it shit me up at age 6, laughable when you see the special effects now.

I had this at school as a set text and The Midwitch Cuckoos. Village of the Damned is a fantastic movie espcially that scene with the shotgun.

Re: Day of the Triffids
The remake is absolute wank. The best version is the John Duttine one. Apparently there's a version by Neil Cross, who wrote Luther, on the way. The book is brilliant.

Re: Day of the Triffids
Judging by the accents and the cast (I'm shit at putting names to faces I recognise), this is a reshowing of a British adaptation.

I missed it first time out.

Re: Day of the Triffids
BBC I think in the 70s. All I can remember is that John Duttine starred. There was a really creepy radio adaptation that was on 4 extra a month ago. That was more in line with Night of the Living Dead in feel.
